Program Profile
The Automotive Engineering Department was established in 2010 and is one of the first pioneering departments in Turkey in the field of Automotive Engineering. The Automotive Engineering Department offers thesis-based master's and doctoral programs. The aim of the Automotive Engineering Graduate Program is to be an exemplary Graduate Program that provides education at an international level in its field, conducts original research studies in accordance with international criteria and based on continuous development, and is constantly developing. The Automotive Engineering Graduate Program aims to contribute to the development of today's and future technologies in the field of Automotive Engineering, to carry the Turkish Automotive Industry further, to contribute to the training of qualified researchers and innovative workforce needed by the automotive sector, to support R&D studies in the automotive field, and to develop University-Industry cooperation. The course plans are structured in accordance with the vision and mission of the department in order to achieve this goal and to ensure that engineers with master's/doctoral degrees who have the knowledge and skills to work in the sector after graduating from the Automotive Engineering Department are trained. The content and course plan of the Automotive Engineering Department graduate program were created by taking into account the course plans of automotive engineering departments in Turkey and the requirements of the sector.
Admission Requirements
Domestic Students: High School Diploma and selection based on university entrance exam scores.
International Students: High School Diploma and placement based on the university’s Foreign Student Examination scores.
Qualification Requirements
To graduate, students must complete 240 ECTS credits over eight semesters, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00, and pass all courses.
Learning Outcomes
Adequate knowledge of mathematics and science in engineering; ability to apply this applied knowledge in engineering problem modeling solutions.
Ability to define and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select appropriate analysis modeling methods for this purpose.
Ability to design a complex system, process or device product that meets specific requirements under realistic constraints; ability to apply modern design methods.
Ability to use information technologies effectively and develop and select modern technical tools necessary for engineering applications.
Ability to design experiments, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze results, interpret results for research and analyze problems.
Personal work skills; ability to work effectively in internal multidisciplinary teams.
Oral and written communication skills in Turkish; at least one foreign language.
Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; ability to access information, follow developments in science and technology and constantly renew oneself.
Awareness of professional ethical responsibility.
Information on applications in business life such as risk management, variance management and project management; awareness of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development.

Further Study Opportunities
Graduates may pursue master’s or doctoral programs in the field of Automotive Engineering. Postgraduates of Automotive Engineering are able to work in Automotive Industry, Automotive Supplier Industry, R & D (Research and Development) Institutions, Consulting Firms, Machine Manufacturing Industry, Transportation Systems, Defense and Air Tools, Industrial Areas, in general, national and international private and public agencies in automotive sector.
Assessment and Grading
Assessment is based on midterm and final exams, with finals comprising at least 60% of the grade. Summer internships are required, totaling at least 40 working days, with evaluation based on reports and presentations.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must successfully complete all courses in the curriculum across eight semesters (four years), earning a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale.
Mode of Study
Full-time, in-person instruction.
